More than a room with a treadmill and resistance bands, we named our fitness center Westminster Athletic Club because it’s designed to bring out the athlete in everyone—at any age. As the saying goes, “If you have a body, you are an athlete.” Our athletic club will help you make the most of it—with resources you can count on—from certified fitness experts to effective equipment.

Fitness Manager On-Site

At your service five days a week on-site, our fitness manager is certified by the National Institute for Fitness and Sport (NIFS). Degreed and certified, NIFS makes sure its managers are trained to help individuals exercise safely and smartly at all ages and stages of life. You’ll receive a personalized plan from our fitness manager—your own prescription for nutrition, functional movement and exercise to help you feel better, build confidence and experience life! Our fitness manager is also available for some on-on- one sessions.

Colleen Matthews

Colleen Matthews, Executive Director

Matthews has more than 32 years of experience in senior living. She is a graduate of Indiana State University and holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Sociology, along with a master’s degree in Gerontology. At an early age, Mathews demonstrated an interest in working with seniors, volunteering in a nursing home at the age of 13, and continued intermittently through her high school years.  “Westminster Village is an exceptional community with a strong history and strong sense of camaraderie and dedication among the team members. I look forward to building upon our foundation of hospitality and customer service while continuing to anticipate and provide for the needs of those we serve.” In her spare time, Colleen enjoys walking her dog, staying physically active with a bootcamp style, kickboxing workout, and spending time with family.

Lauren Kelsheimer, Director of  Community Life

Lauren’s background includes over 10 years of professional experience in the fitness, wellness and recreation fields. She is a familiar face to many, having worked at Westminster Village for over five years as a contract employee through NIFS Fitness Center Management. She loves creating moments of magic for residents, and when she hears that someone enjoys a program, event or trip, it keeps her motivated to continue to do more and more for them. In her own words, it’s about “creating experiences that people won’t forget.” Lauren prides herself on the ability to connect with people and understand their needs and wants, and feels it’s a big reason she’s been able to achieve her goals as Community Life Director.

Julie Jones, Human Resources Director

Julie graduated from St. Mary of the Woods College with a Bachelor of Science Human Resource Management. She has worked in Human Resources for a little over 4 years. Her goal is to make sure that all team members feel appreciated for their hard work, and if they need help with anything that she is always there to help them. Julie loves to smile and bring joy to others. She loves helping people and has enjoyed working in senior living the last few years. When Julie is not working, she loves spending time with her daughter, boyfriend, family and friends. She also enjoys baking, exercising, and collecting Betty Boop items. Julie’s motto is “It’s going to be a good day.”

Jo Collins, Director of Nursing

Johanna Collins, Director of Nursing

Johanna has had experience in many different positions throughout the healthcare spectrum. I have worked in skilled nursing, Assisted Living, public health, a Cardiac Device Clinic, and in schools. My specialty was in the emergency room. I have experience as a charge nurse and lead nurse. I graduated from Ivy Tech Community College. As a Director of Nursing my focus is on the clinical needs of the Residents. I make sure that Residents are able to live the best quality of life possible. Prior to accepting this position, I traveled as a nurse for 3 years. While nursing is my passion, I love traveling, learning new things, am very active in my church, and love spending time with family and friends.

Mandi-Dailey

Amanda Dailey, Residency Counselor

Mandi has more than 15 years of experience in senior living with 10+ of those years right here at Westminster Village. Mandi loves being able to share her passion for senior living. It brings joy to Mandi knowing that she has the privilege of navigating both future residents and their loved ones to find the right Life Plan that fits them. She prides herself on her continued growth in this industry and her ability to rise to any challenge that is presented to her with a positive outlook. Mandi is a native resident of the Wabash Valley. In her personal time, she enjoys being with her children, reading, working on various new house projects and has a love for nature. Mandi strives for growth both personally and professionally. She is a lifelong learner, always seeking out opportunities to learn something new.

Michael Sweitzer, Fitness Manager

Michael Sweitzer, Fitness Manager

Michael has 3+ years of documented experience in the fitness industry. He graduated from Indiana State University with a Master’s Degree in Exercise Science along with a minor in Strength and Conditioning. As the Fitness Center Manager, Michael ensures that everyone he interacts with on a daily basis enjoys to exercise and the services he offers. He treats everyone like gold and looks forward to work, day in and day out. In his free time, he LOVES to play League of Legends and has been top 1% in the world at this competitive game.

Deana Wilson, Marketing & Sales Director

I am thrilled to be serving Westminster Village as the Director of Marketing & Sales! I feel blessed to have spent my thirty-year career championing the interests of older adults and serving in various operational and marketing roles. Regardless of what positions I have held over the years, I recognize the impact of the work that I do on the lives of others…our residents, their family members and my co-workers. I want that impact to be positive and supportive of people living their best lives!

In my personal time, I enjoy spending time with my adult children and their spouses as well as my new furry canine friend, Ralphie, who I recently rescued. I also enjoy flower gardening, reading, yoga and recently started exploring what artistic talents that may lie within me 😊.

Laura Jones, PTA, Therapy Program Manager

Laura started working at Westminster Village first of December 2018. She has been a Physical Therapy Assistant, PTA, for 15 years with all the years involved with geriatrics. She has also been a Manager for 11 years. Laura really enjoys the high energy that radiates from the population who live at Westminster. Making a positive impact in someone’s life is what she is most proud of while at Westminster. Laura graduated Vincennes University in 2002 and 2004 with 2 Associates in Science and outside of work I attend my two sons, Kale and Korbin,  year around ball games, traveling, and attending professional sporting events and concerts.

Jon McCloskey, Director of Plant & Environmental Operations

Jon retired from the Marine Corps Active Duty after 23 years of service. Jon has a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Penn State University World Campus and a Master’s degree in organizational leadership from Brandman University. As the Director of Plant Operations, Jon makes sure residents are able to enjoy a beautiful community, completely maintenance-free. He responds to resident requests regarding their individual apartments and makes sure the campus is always clean and beautiful. Jon enjoys the outdoors and working on his land when not at work.

Amy Sisson

Amy Sisson, Assisted Living Sales Associate

Amy has over 25 years’ experience in customer service and sales marketing in the agriculture industry. She attended Lake Land College and Eastern Illinois University pursuing degrees in Child Care and Social Work.

As Westminster Village’s Assisted Living Sales Associate, Amy ensures residents enjoy a beautiful, maintenance-free community. She is passionate about care and providing a great experience. She addresses resident requests concerning their individual apartments and consistently maintains the cleanliness and attractiveness of the campus.

In her free time, she enjoys reading and spending time at her river cabin with her family.

Amy Hannig

Amy Hannig, Move-in Coordinator/Sales Associate

Amy has worked 13 years in long-term care with 1 year as a dementia unit coordinator. She also as a Certificate in Medical Office Management from Brown’s Business College and a Certificate in Nursing Home Administration from the College of DuPage. Amy looks forward to assisting new residents coming to live at Westminster Village in selecting their apartment finishes and details that will create the new home of their dreams. In her off time, Amy enjoys day trips on the weekends and always make a point to visit the library of any town/city that she visits!

Kris Kraut, Executive Chef

Kris Kraut, Executive Chef

Chef Kris Kraut brings over 20 years of culinary expertise to the table as a seasoned chef and entrepreneur. Originally from Terre Haute, Kris started his career at his family’s bed and breakfast, mastering the art of flipping eggs and brewing coffee. His deep-seated love for food and family traditions has been a cornerstone of his craft. Kris fondly recalls his earliest food memories, standing at the stove with his grandmother and great-grandmother, learning to prepare traditional Swedish and Czech dishes.

After leading the kitchens at his alma mater, Indiana State University, Kris ventured into entrepreneurship. He founded a successful catering company, wedding venue, and coffee shop, each embodying his dedication to quality ingredients, flawless presentation, and a blend of local and international flavors. Kris’s career highlights include cooking for Willy Nelson, serving meals to the Blue Angels, and catering a memorable five-night movie shoot in the cornfields of Illinois.

Outside the kitchen, Kris treasures time with his wife Gretchen and their three daughters, traveling, tending garden, and hosting lively family dinner parties. Kris is thrilled to bring his passion and creativity to Westminster Village, eager to create new culinary memories and experiences around the table.

Becky Lowe, Director of Environmental Services

Becky Lowe, Director of Environmental Services

With over 12 years of experience managing environmental services in various settings, Becky Lowe has a passion for ensuring residents feel safe, supported, and balanced in their lives. She has worked as a Complex Supervisor at Indiana State University for 6 years, managed Residence Life services at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology for 5.5 years, and briefly served as an EVS Supervisor at Terre Haute Casino Resort. Becky finds joy in helping others and is deeply committed to creating a positive environment for those she serves. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her three grandchildren, reading, learning, and relaxing by the lake.

Samantha Wray, Care Navigator/Supportive Care

Samantha Wray, Care Navigator/Supportive Care

Samantha Wray has been with Westminster Village since 2006, helping residents navigate healthcare decisions and transitions in care. She began working in long-term care as a CNA at 16 and continued her nursing career, graduating in 2005. As Care Navigator, she coordinates additional care services and provides support through emergencies. Samantha loves spending time with her two boys and traveling, and her passion for long-term care has inspired her oldest son to also work at Westminster Village.

Terra Holler, Licensed Health Facility Administrator (HFA)

With 16 years of senior living experience, including 12 in administration and 4 as a CNA, Terra is a dedicated healthcare leader who graduated Magna Cum Laude from Purdue University with a Bachelor’s in Healthcare Administration. Passionate about servant leadership, she focuses on delivering the highest quality care for residents while promoting independence and educating families. Beginning her journey in long-term care as a volunteer at age 10, she’s committed to fostering a welcoming environment for all. In her free time, she enjoys family, her dogs, and attending her son’s sporting events.

Payton Arney, Director of Dining Services

Payton Arney, Director of Dining Services

Payton Arney has worked at Westminster Village since May of 2012. As Director of Dining Services, her goal is to ensure that residents have high-quality food and a high-quality dining experience across all levels of care. In her free time, Payton loves spending time with her husband and family and enjoys horseback riding whenever she gets the chance.
